A look inside Joe Montana’s 9,700-square-foot Napa mansion that’s hitting the market

According to the Wall Street Journal the home, completed in the early 2000s, features a small moat and turrets


Ever since I heard about Joe Montana’s 500-acre Calistoga ranch with a 9,700-square-foot Tuscan mansion, stables, olive trees and a wine cellar that can hold 3,500 bottles, I like to imagine the Montanas greeting visitors by saying, “It’s not much, but we call it home.”

The property is up for sale for a Joe Cool $29.8 million according to the Wall Street Journal. The Journal reports the Montanas originally put the estate up for sale, asking — in a tip of the helmet to the team Joe led to four Super Bowl victories — $49 million. The new price point represents a 41 percent discount.

According to the Journal, the property has a swimming pool, a skeet shooting range, a bocce ball terrace, a guest house, and a caretaker’s cottage.

It .says here, they might even consider selling the family’s pithy greeting, assuming it really is a thing.
