A Muir Beach compound with two cottages beautifully remodeled and decorated by the interior designer owner Victoria Hamilton-Rivers is listed for $3.295 million.
A Bay Area interior designer has spent a decade making a Muir Beach home and its neighboring guest cottage her own with a revamp worthy of the pages of a home decor magazine.
Now, she’s ready for her next project and selling the so-called compound at 130 Sunset Way for $3.295 million.
Tucked away in the tiny seaside town just north of San Francisco, the property sits on a half-acre at the top of a private drive with sweeping views of the beach below and the Pacific Ocean reaching as far as the eye can see.
With a very flexible living space, it consists of a two-bedroom, two-bathroom main cottage with an open floor plan and sun decks; a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest cottage with a kid’s loft and private deck; and three other separate structures including a “writer’s hut,” a “crafting shed” and garden storage. The owner lived in the main residence and later developed a vacation rental business.
Outside decks take in the views and paths meander between the cottages through succulent gardens. There are plenty of spaces for relaxing and entertaining and watching dolphins and whales swim by. You can walk down a path to the beach from the home.
The home’s decor is timeless and the style beach-inspiredwith touches of English cottage whimsy.
“This is her personal residence,” says listing agent Debra Allen of Compass. “She had fun making it beach themed. The cottages are light and bright and happy and they have this vacation feeling but it’s 20 minutes to the Golden Gate Bridge. It has this amazing mix of getting away from it all yet you’re still so close to everything.”
The property can be purchased furnished.
